Overnight Coordinator - Full Time - St. Catherine of Siena - Chicago 60108

About the Overnight Coordinator Position

The Overnight Coordinator is a full-time position and reports to the Program Manager. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Program Manager in the overall organization and ongoing development of an assigned residential setting during the third shift. The Coordinator monitors the interactions of staff and youth to ensure appropriate service delivery in a safe and nurturing environment. The Coordinator monitors the job site, intervenes in crisis situations and supervises personnel.

  • Must have valid Illinois Driver's License
  • Must be over 21 over 25 preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Monitors the occurrences in site specific programs and ensures that all staff are present, awake, and functioning;
  • Provides feedback and direction to their subordinates regarding policies and procedures and professional conduct through daily informal consultations;
  • Maintains communication with therapists, consultants, and program personnel to ensure effective follow-through;
  • Assists in providing training to overnight personnel, which may be home specific or required for workshop completion compliance;
  • Implements crisis intervention techniques as needed and may serve as the NCI monitor and assist in other crisis as necessary;
  • Evaluates and provides home specific feedback regarding the transportation of all youth to school;
  • Monitors and assists home with verification of population;
  • Maintains an ongoing daily communication log which is to be used a reference guide;
  • Transports youth in a Maryville van as needed;
  • Documents any issues or concerns in the program communication log;
  • Participates in continued performance quality improvement;
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service-related field from an accredited College or University preferred, plus two years of experience working with Children in a residential setting;
    • Or High School Diploma / GED plus 60 Credit hours and five years or Residential Child Care experience;
  • Successful completion of all staff education requirements including: Pre-Service training, NCI, CPR, and ARC Model;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license;
  • Minimum 25 years of age.

Skills /Knowledge:

  • Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in stressful situations;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to children, colleagues, supervisors, coworkers, subordinates, support agencies, and a variety of internal as well as external consumers;
  • Ability to establish trust and positive rapport with children, and work within ethical boundaries;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize job duties and needs of the children;
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and documentation programs;
  • Ability to drive a passenger van.

Physical Demands:

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and drive for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs;
  • Required to lift/move objects and/or youth weighing in excess of 40 pounds;
  • Must possess ability to provide physical restraint to youth;
  • Must have the visual, hearing, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform the essential job functions defined above.

Environment and Scheduling:

  • Will perform work primarily in, and in association with, one or more of Maryville program settings; as well, but not limited to, recreational facilities, places of worship, court rooms, hospitals, and various community settings;
  • Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary;
  • May be scheduled to work on weekends and/or holidays.
  • Duties involve contact with youth who may be traumatized;
  • Must maintain an on-call status.
