Yearly Pay Range: $43,000-47,000

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting the Program Manager in the overall organization and ongoing development of an assigned residential setting during a specific shift. Monitor the interactions of staff and youth to ensure appropriate service delivery in a safe and nurturing environment. Assist in the training and supervision of Youth Care Specialists in order to ensure compliance with program expectations including the Maryville philosophy and Clinical Model of Youth Care. Provide consultation to Youth Care Specialists in both verbal and written form. Provides shift leadership, direction, and coordination in order to facilitate the integration of resources for the betterment of the youth enrolled in the program. Engages in the performance of managerial duties. Customarily and regularly directs three or more other Youth Care Specialists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervises three or more other Youth Care Specialists.

• Provides input into the development of treatment plans and objectives.

• Participates in the milieu while observing and addressing interactions of staff and youth to provide constructive feedback both verbally and in written form.

• Provides ongoing consultations/evaluations for Youth Care Specialists and maintains programmatic files for subordinates in conjunction with the Program Manager.

• Assists with the orientation of program participants and staff members.

• Oversees the written documentation required daily for each youth, including, but not limited to record documentation, billing logs, medical logs, and specific information as requested by the Treatment Team.

• Leads shift transition meetings and participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings, as needed.

• Provides coordination of daily activities including therapy sessions, recreation, meal planning, visitations, the self-administration of medication by the youth and group interventions.

• Directs and encourages staff members when dealing with crisis situations.

• Participates in continued performance quality improvement.

• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Assists with the allocation of daily financial resources in accordance with the programmatic budget.

• Performs duties to ensure youth/staff ratios are met daily.

• Transports youth in a Maryville van, as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in human service related field from an accredited college or university preferred, plus two years of residential child care experience; or

• High School Diploma / GED plus 60 college credit hours and five years of residential

child care experience

• Minimum of one year of experience appropriate to population being served.

• Minimum of 25 years of age.
